I offer my services individually, in any combination, or as a complete package. All the services listed are available for German and English. I work with clients at home and abroad.
Editing (development edit or copy-edit)
There are different types of editing and depending on the industry, media type and type of text, different tasks may be involved. Generally speaking: Your texts are examined and optimised in terms of content, structure, style and linguistic correctness. Errors of all kinds, be they logical, content-related, stylistic, semantic, grammatical or orthographic, are eliminated. In addition, the following aspects can be examined as required: Diversity and inclusion, gender equality, accessibility, BIS/ISO conformity, and much more. In most cases, manuscript preparation for typesetting is also commissioned with a copy-edit.
Proofreading
Proofreading is primarily about putting the finishing touches to spelling, punctuation and grammar. I also check whether spellings have been used consistently. Depending on the product, it may be necessary to correct page breaks, check styles and layout, the formatting of illustrations, and much more.
Picture research
A picture is worth a thousand words, so they say. So you should find the right one (or the right ones)! I'd be happy to support you with this. I research photos and other images and create or fill out asset lists.
Copyright clearance
In case your publication contains third-party material, I will be happy to research and obtain the rights according to your specifications.
Editorial project management
The efficient supervision and management of publication processes require good project management. I manage your project from conception to final data delivery, planning and monitoring quality, costs, and deadlines in a structured manner. I coordinate the work of internal and external project members and organise communication between all.
Combination of services
You are welcome to combine any of the above services according to your wishes. For instance, it may be practical to combine a copy-edit with picture research, or the clearance of third-party rights.
